      Psy-fi painting

These artists have departed from the traditions of plein-air, and abandoned imagery of enlightenment man gazing over the sublime landscape, superior in his thought to the natural world. Their disturbing but beautiful paintings of landscapes, creatures, and people transformed by supernatural forces are among the most refreshing novelties of the unsettled aesthetics of 21st-century America. Their panpsychist psy-fi landscapes capture the anxious zeitgeist. The country’s future feels painfully uncertain, and its art unconsciously reflects its time.

      Wow, I like it, Steve.

I wonder how they generate the ideas for this art style?

Maybe from dreams, or simply from imagination.

When I’m getting ready to go to sleep, I see paintings in my imagination.

Paintings I’ve never seen before. They’re of all different kinds. But I think there’s more fantasy/sci-fi/landscape than others.

Sounds wonderful. Can you paint them?

It’s not easy to record them. They shift around as I view them, and there’s some kind of barrier preventing me from seeing every detail.

Anyhow, I started studying fine art at uni so I can gain some drawing & painting skills.
