Pros:

  • You decide how long you’ll work;
  • Home-based job (or anywhere else);
  • Perfect job for people who love aircraft.

Cons:

Truck drivers typically transport materials and goods among manufacturing, distribution and retail centers. With trucking as your career, you don’t have desk-mates to distract you or a boss peering over your shoulder throughout the day. This makes it a perfect job for introverts!

Pros:

  • Easy to land a job (only require is commercial driver’s license);
  • High demand for truck drivers;
  • Perfect job for people who love vehicles.

Cons:

  • On the road all day;
  • Unhealthy lifestyle;

49. Bookstore Assistant

Bookstore assistants provide help to customers looking for a book. They have a wide range of responsibilities and they typically are greeting customers, taking inventories, organizing books, maintaining book databases and collecting payments.

Salary:

  • Bookstore assistants can earn from $29,000 to $79,000 annually

Pros:

  • Good work environment;
  • Tasks are easy to complete;
  • Perfect for students.

Cons:

  • Not a great environment if you are an active person;
  • Shifts can be boring;

50. Cosmetologist

Talking with clients to better understand their requirements and making suggestions for improving their appearance. Cutting, styling and coloring hair and doing scalp treatments. Applying make-up creating a variety of different looks according to the requests of the client.

Salary:

  • Experienced cosmetologists can earn from $18,000 to $40,000 annually

Pros:

  • Cosmetologists can earn tips;
  • You can earn commissions (in addition to pay);
  • Freedom to be creative;
  • High in demand.

Cons:

  • You’ll be on your feet all day;
  • Cosmetology can be a dirty job;
  • Clients can sometimes be challenging, demanding, or negative.

51. Medical Proofreader

The medical proofreader’s duties involve taking steps to review and edit medical reports. Their responsibilities include ensuring that the content meets their employer’s editorial guidelines and is free from punctuation, grammar, and spelling errors.

Salary:

  • Medical Proofreaders can earn from $46,000 to $92,000 annually

Pros:

  • There is always something to learn;
  • High in demand.

Cons:

  • Exhaustion;
  • Time-consuming.

52. Uber, Lyft & Taxi Driver

Their main responsibilities are picking up passengers, transporting clients between places, and maintaining their vehicle in good condition.

Salary:

  • Uber, Lyft and Taxi drivers can earn from $10 to $20 per hour.

Pros:

  • Flexible schedule;
  • You earn more during peak demand hours;
  • You can get paid instantly.

Cons:

  • The driver is responsible for paying their own taxes;
  • Drivers must carry commercial rideshare insurance;
  • Some drivers are experiencing lower pay and rising costs.

53. Video Editor

The video editors duties are interpreting and discussing briefs, assembling raw footage, using specialized computer software for editing purposes, selecting usable sequences, putting sequences in order and making other content tweaks.

Salary:

  • Experienced pilots can earn from $32,000 to $78,000 annually

Pros:

  • Can be self-employed or work for an employer;
  • Most editors have an assistant to help them;
  • High in demand due to the need for special effects in the industry.

Cons:

  • Requires at least a bachelor’s degree;
  • Long working hours;
  • You have to meet strict deadlines.

54. Virtual Assistant

Their main duties are managing schedules, arranging meetings, managing contact lists, handling emails, sending newsletters, performing market research, identifying new business opportunities and providing customer service, among many others.

Salary:

  • Virtual assistants can earn from $18 to $119 per hour.

Pros:

  • Minimal starting costs;
  • You only need an internet connection and a laptop/computer;
  • You can set your work at any hours;
  • Can work from home or anywhere else.

Cons:

  • No vacations;
  • No co-workers and can’t get help from others;
  • If you have a busy home, work can be distracting
